The reef in front of Bird Island (a small "rock-island" located inside the lagoon) is filled with huge mushroomed-shaped coral heads and seaward-sloping surge channels. Sleeping nurse sharks and resting turtles frequent this area.

this place can be quite challenging, when currents from either side of the island meet, as it is on the most southern tip of the island. you can dive it near the wall or take a look into the blue where you might find big pelagic fish and many sharks or tunas.
