Rocamadour, Lot

Great site with a lot of fishs near the surface (large shoal often seen). Do not look for them at 20m deep ! Just S of Cap l'abeille !

The Astrée is a big french cargo, sunk 1st may, 1944 by an English submarine (Untiring). This wreck is located very closed to Port-Vendres harbour. It also can be accessed from the other harbours (Banyuls, Colioure).

The Saumur is a 108m cargo, build in Scotland in 1920. The deck and mast are well conservated. It was torpedoed 21st may, 1944 by the British submarine Upstart. The Saumur wreck is located just south from the Astrée, between Port-Vendres harbour and Béar cape.

Start the dive starts from the creek, to the SE along the coast between 10m and 25m. There are many rocks, with white gorgonians. Also look for sea slugs... Drive the coastline road from Collioure to Port-Vendres. Park beside to the Port-Vendres cemetery (equip here). Go down to the creek by the track. Cimetière de Port-Vendres is also known as La mauresque.

See PlongeeSout for details In Martel, take the D23 to the north. Once D23 cross the GR46 (treck track), cross the stream named « la doue » and continue on the left on the track. Pass the watermill and go ahead up to the wooden fence. Park here. The dive site is up to the track (approx 600 m). Oeil de la Doue is also known as Oeil de la Doux.

The Ressel is a very large underwater river. The entrance is 6m deep in the Célé river. Water is often very clear, and you can make good pictures. Park on the road side where the river is very close to the road at the start of a long straight section. The entrance is 60m east from the equipment point. Le Ressel is also known as Emergence du Ressel.

Dive from the end of the dig, near the right pipe. Dive to the south following the coastline. The Pythéas wreck is located at 11m deep. This old broken wreck sunk in octobre 1897. There is not much to see there but a lot nearby. South of Port Vendres. Go to the dig "du mole abri". Wear your dive gear next to the restaurant named "le Gibraltar".

When you come from Port-Vendres, turn left just after the Banyuls city sign. Park in the Helio Marin center parking, or near by. The dive site is in direction of the white rock named "the sphinx" to the northeast.

Great site to see a lot of fish. Moray and octopus betwen 0 and 15 m in the talus scree coralligeneand all others arround coralligenous between 20 and 25m. Very big congers eel. Just N of Cap Bear

Rocamadour, Lot Pou Meyssen is also known as Gouffre de Pou Meyssen, Pomayssen.

It is a 370+ m long cave. Between Cadrieu and Cajarc (1,75 km from Cajarc), Lot. Landénouse is also known as Landénouze.

After 1 km of Genevières on the left, there is a road sign 'Limogne 8'. Take the track on the left after the road sign. Pass the bridge and go ahead for 200m.

This lake is frozen from December till March and is a great site for ice-diving. The water is very clean and the visibility is particularly amazing. You need to rent some ski to access the lake.

An extraordinary marine life; including sea horses, sea slugs etc. Northeast of Thau lake; between Barleduc and Le Barrou

Font el Truffe is on of my favourite cave dive. Once the very small entrace passed, the river goes thru a narrow and tortuous way. Coulours are very nice. From Lacave, take the D247 road for 100m (a strong left turn just befor the Ouysse river bridge). Continue on this small road for about 3 km. The entrance is on the left. Park just in front of it on the right. Font del truffe is also known as Fontaine du Truffe.

Les paulilles

This is a great place for children (first dive, snorkeling, etc.). There is a small natural pool just behind the Banyuls Marine Research Center (Laboratoire Arago). Access the site by the harbour.

The Saint-Lucien is a 80m French cargo, it was torpedoed in 1944 by the British submarine Unruly. Take care of the numerous nets on the wreck ! The Saint-Lucien is a wreck located at the Béar cape, between Banyuls and Port-Vendres. Le Saint-Lucien is also known as Lucien.

Les Paulilles

Les Tignes is a famous Banyuls dive. Usually, large shoals are seen in the area. Large groupers are mostly between the rocks and the coast. The easyest way is by boat, but you also can access the site by the road (4WD recommended). Driving to the S, few kilometers after Banyuls, there is a track on the left in a road turn. This lead to the beach. Usually, you park 150m before the end of the track. Les tignes is also known as Tigne.

Only by boat

The Alice-Robert was a 88m long French Banana cargo build in Danemark in 1934. It was torpedoed the 2nd june, 1944 by the British submarine Ultor. The wreck is broken in two parts. The rear part is 200m from the front part of the wreck. The lowest point is the mast, 32m deep. The Alice-Robert wreck is located 4nm from Colioure harbour. L'Alice-Robert is also known as Le Bananier, le SG.11.
