In this place (as many others in the Atlantic coast from Uruguay) the conditions are generally not very good for diving (big waves, lack of visibility). It is somewhat rare to find good visibilty(lets say one a month visibilty can cattain as much as 4 m and almost never more than 5 meters). Close to Maldonado. Jose Ignacio is also known as Faro Jose Ignacio.
