Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Dolphin Point

Dolphin Point is a dive site with typically high visibility. The best time to dive is at slack tide when the currents aren't as strong. The underwater biology at this site is diverse and abundant. Aside from the typical small reef fish; sharks, large wrasse and predatory fishes inhabit this site in numbers. There are also a variety of hard and soft corals and the odd swim through. The reefs around Dolphin Point are festooned with discarded nets, anchors, ropes, chains, hooks, sinkers, and miles of fishing line. This is largely due to its exposed position and unprotected status in regards to a marine reservation. Access to dolphin Point is only by boat. Hayman Island resort can provide dive charters for the general area, as well as various dive centres in the Whitsundays. On site dive boats also provide services for this site.
