Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Zeelandbrug
The most famous dive site on the north of the Oosterschelde. Big parking, in the weekends very busy. Tidal water, diving on the moment between high and low tide is advised. You'll have a one hour window with no or moderate currents. Later the currents will be extremely strong and diving is dangerous. The Oosterschelde houses huge lobsters and lots of different fishes, such as sea bass. The pillars on the bridge are built are very nice to start your dive. You can snorkel to the pillar and go down there, the depth is approx. 12 metres on low tide. It is also possible to start from shore and swim out. In May/June the catfish come here to mate and lay eggs. A very rare and beautiful site. You can see up to 30 catfish in one dive.
Use the turn of Tide for your dive or you might need a boat to pick you up later.
In April and May there is a great chance for giant cuddlefish.
Do not enter the Bridge, use the small road to the base of the Bridge.

I was there last week and made a beautiful dive! Saw loads of big fish, nice anemones, a very rare shell and huge lobsters. At low tide the visibility is better than at high tide, although the entry is bit harder because of the slippery rocks.
