This site is an underwater pinnacle. There is a fair amount of reef life, but Coiba diving is more about marine life. This dive site is accessed via a Live-Aboard or through a dive center in Santa Catalina, Veraguas.

This site is an underwater pinnacle, as are most dive sites in Coiba. Large animal life is possible here. The easiest way to access the dive sites around Isla Coiba are either through a Live-Aboard or if you prefer to stay on land, you can use a dive center in Santa Catalina, Veraguas.

9Punta Caracol
This sight is a patch reef adjacent to mangroves. Used by students of Institute of Tropical Ecology and Conservation (ITEC) for coral reef ecology studies. Depths run from 1 meter or less in the mangroves to 18m where the reef slopes into the channel. Boat access only. Check with local dive operator or charter for information.

18La Miel
La Miel is the first Panamanian town from the Colombian border. Panamanians rarely visit this place but for Colombians this is frequent destination of eco-tourists staying in the Capurgana-Zapsurro lodges. This is a great place for your fist dive just to get aquainted with your equipment. Check for lobsters hidding in the coral reef and the infamous Lion fishes easily spotted from 40 ft and below. Best place for novice or rusty divers. Dive from the boat or swim from the white sand beach looking for the reef which slowly gets deeper to the north.
