Haliotis Dive Center operates around Faial Island in the Azores. The Faial island is part of the central group of islands and it is the western vortice of the so called “Islands of the Triangle”, together with São Jorge and Pico islands beeing arround 3 nautical miles appart.

Faial island is the farmost ocidental island of the central group of islands in the Azores, separated from Pico island by a strait with the lenght of aproximately 4,5 nautical miles know as Faial channel. 

Due to its location you will only need light clothing with something warmer for the nights. It is recomended to bring some rainproof clothing because rain is failry frequent specialy in the months from October to April.

It is in the sea that lies the greatest wealth of the Azores with the abundance of hundreds of species of molluscs and fish and large mammals such as whale and dolphin.

In Faial the diving season is only from June to October, due to adverse weather conditions in winter, fall and early spring.

 The dive offers very easy dives with lots of life, small caves and some shipwrecks, with the highlights being the dive on the Princess Alice bank, where the sighting of mantas is regular, and the shark dives where the blue shark can be seen.

The water temperature varies between 18ºC and 21ºC and the visibility between 10 and 20 meters. On more remote dives, such as Princess Alice, visibility reaches up to 40 meters and the water temperature can reach 24ºC. A 5mm or 7mm suit is recommended.

The dives are made in semirigid boat ("Lioti" semi-rigid VALIANT Patrol with 12 meters, with two Yamaha off-board 300 horsepower engines, with sounder, d-gps, oxigen kit and first aid kit; and is equipped with travelling seats and access ladders.). Normally, we do not return to the boarding dock between dives, the surface interval being carried on board. To get to the bank Princess Alice the trip is about two and a half hours, for each side.

The dive in the Atlantic Ocean is very dynamic and the conditions vary from day to day, it is recommended to take seasickness pills, especially for those more susceptible to weather conditions..

In Haliotis Dive Center you can find a store, changing rooms with hot shower, scuba dive equipments for rental  and a Bauer compressor.

In our dive center we do double dive trips from 8am to 2pm - 2 dives in different spots with surface interval onboard. We also provide single dive trips (1 dive) and night dive trips.

The diving trips includes 12L tanks, weights and belt, dive guide, insurance, boat trips in our searib fast boat, water and snack. For equipment rental, 15L tanks and Nitrox please check the price list.

Haliotis Madeira is a PADI Dive Center located at Hotel Dom Pedro Baía in Machico, 5 minutes away from the airport.

Madeira is known as the "Pearl of the Atlantic" due to its amazing climate that allows scuba diving all year around! The archipelago of Madeira consists of Madeira island; Porto Santo island (Golden Island) 90 km NE of Funchal; Desertas Islands (where the only colony of monk seals in Portuguese territory lives. During some dives you may be lucky enough to encounter them ) and the Selvagens Islands.

The water temperature varies between 17ºC and 22ºC and the visibility between 10 and 25 meters.

It is recommended a 5mm suit in the high season, from June to October, and a 7mm suit in the low season, from November to May.

Sesimbra is probably the most popular diving location in Portugal. Because of its orientation it is possible to dive all year arround. In Haliotis Dive Center you have male and female changing rooms, classroom, store and filling station. You can also find the biggest boat operating in Sesimbra, our Homarus with 12 meters.

Sesimbra is a pleasant fishing village, just located at 30km from Lisbon being protected by the Natural Park of Arrábida and its wonderful waters are part of the biggest Portuguese Marine Reserve: Luiz Saldanha Marine Park  (where the majoraty of the dives are made). 

The diversity of the sea life allows us to see a lot of species at different depths. At the moment more than 1100 of species of marine macro-organisms are known.

Haliotis Dive Center operates in Santa Maria in the Azores, where the most impressive feature is the blue water that many say is the most beautiful in the world, sometimes reaching 50 meters of visibility, not to mention mobulas and pelagic fish! 

Around Santa Maria there are many different diving spots including caves, canyons, walls, and reefs. Encounters with big oceanic species are always a possibility, even in the closer sites. Santa Maria's mascot is the Mobula.

Our boat is a custom-designed for the efficiency and comfort of divers; Our dive center has male and female changing rooms, hot showers with towels, a zone with all equipment to rent, and a small shop.

The Marine Park Prof. Luiz Saldanha is a protected natural  reserve on a national and European level, with numerous species of fauna and flora that has increased in numbers and size since the creation of the park in 1998.

Azul Diving Center Madeira is a top service SSI and PADI dive center located at Penha França Mar Hotel in the heart of Funchal on beautiful Madeira Island. We run daily boat trips (one tank dive in the morning at 9h and one in the afternoon at 14h00) to dive in the most exciting dive sites on the island: Garajau National park and Cabo Girão Marine park. They are all characterized by extremely rich biodiversity, clear waters and an abundance of marine life! This zone is a paradise for underwater photography. Divers may find here tunas, mackerels, large groupers, barracudas, huge stingrays, morays etc. In addition, from time to time we have the chance to spot some amazing creatures, such as frogfish, huge round stingrays, sea horses and turtles. Haliotis - Peniche Dive Center facility is located next to the Supertubos beach in Peniche.

We have vans to make the transfers to the harbor where the boats are located so we can go dinving in Belenga’s natutal reserve.

The small archipelago of Berlengas consists of the main island Berlenga Grande and the adjoining riffs off Estelas and Farilhões. They were declared a Natural Reserve in the 3rd of September of 1981 (the oldest marine Portuguese reserve).

This dive center was the first of Haliotis, and all of is infrastructure where made from the ground up thought by divers for divers having in mind comfort and safety.

In this facilities you will encounter male and female changing rooms with a capacity for 60 people, hot water showers with towel, two classrooms, technical zone with all equipment to rent, shop with the best brands and a place where you can relax before and after dives near the 13x7 pool (3m deep) built exclusively for teaching divers. We are an Aqualung Dive center with about fifty equipment’s available for rent by our customers.

Our filling station has a BAUER compressor capable of filling all the breathable mixtures (Air, Nitrox, Trimix and O2), having more than 100 tanks (12L, 15L, 18L, Double 12L, Double 15L), we are also a rebreather friendly center.

Our boats are semi-rigid inflatable boats made by Searibs: Lascaris with 12 meters and 2 Yamaha 350 horsepower outboard engines and Necora with 9,6 meters and 2 Yamaha 200 horsepower outboard engines. Both have depth sounder, VHF, GPS, customized structures for placing the tanks while providing seating places , access ladders, oxygen kit and first aid kit; everything for the fun, safety and welfare of divers.

We have extensive knowledge and experience here in the Algarve above and below the water!! Our experienced and friendly staff will suggest the best excursion for you. We personalise our dives to suit your experience level, having beach and boat dives along the Algarvian coast. All dives are guided by a PADI professional.

Having learned to dive you may want to buy your first mask/snorkel or fins or if you are already a diver, you may want a strobe or a knife. If you want help or advice with the purchase of any diving equipment, our experienced Instructors and Divemasters are always available to give you advice in our shop.

Indigo Divers - Albufeira Dive Centre, Lda was established in June 2006 and became an Authorized PADI Dive Centre on the 7th August, the same year – S-799165. Indigo Divers uses only qualified PADI Instructors who are very experienced in teaching PADI courses and have local knowledge of diving in the Algarve.

We work with boats fully licensed by the Portuguese authorities. The captains are very experienced working along the Algarvian coast.

Calheta Dive Center offers diving and snorkeling for all levels, in the beautiful Madeiran underwater world.

With water temperatures up to 26°C and visibility up to 30 meters, the diving here is very pleasant. There are over 25 dive sites to explore - all of which are interesting and pristine. Choose from shore dives, boat dives, drift dives, wreck dives, or trips further afield to the Garajau Marine Park. The dive center is right on the beach, offering easy access to the water.
