About Us

The Soleni Dive Centre opened on Soneva Fushi in October 1995. Until December 1998 it was the only diving school operating in the Baa Atoll. Thomas Wlchli and Elisabetta Benini have had a long experience teaching diving in the Maldives before deciding that Soneva Fushi was 'the' island. Their policy has always been to offer quality rather then quantity. Special attention is given to all divers, whether they are experienced or only beginners. The diving groups are kept small. Our instructors go beyond the normal supervisory line of duty, sharing with you their enthusiasm for diving.

Diving conditions around Soneva Fushi vary with the seasons.

From December to April the visibility is at its best and can be as much as 50 meters! Seas are calm from February until April. From May to November the Visibility is reduced and 15 to 20 meters is normal. The main factor for the reduced visibility is the plankton which attracts many manta Rays and the occasional whale shark. Seas are generally moderate to rough during May until November.
