Easy to find off of I 90, take Rt 39 south to rt 35 and turn onto Waverly rd. Large lake, that does allow motorized boats. You can park close to the water, there are picnic tables near the water to set up on. Entry into the water is a little tricky due to the mucky bottom near the shore. There is also a lot of plant life near the shore. There is a fresh water kelp that grows 20 feet tall. Very different than the quarry diving I usually do. I did 2 dives and the visibility ranged from a few feet to more than 20 depending on the location. Bottom composition is a fine silt, but is no problem if you stay a few feet above it. If you drop something forget about it as it will be swallowed up. The kelp was amazing though and the fish life was good near the shore and plants. I didn't venture beyond 35 ft since there was nothing to see beyond the ring of plant life circling the lake. There is a beach for the family along with play sets for children, concession stand and bathrooms. Very small swimming area and there are lifeguards on duty. There is no fee to park or dive. I think the boat launch is also free.
