Me and my buddies made our first trip here and we will certainly go back! The vis was excellent for freshwater diving, easily the clearest lake/quarry in the state of Va. They had recently added an airplane to go along with the movie 'The Replacements'. They had many other submerged objects to look at as well, and the fish were plentiful in the areas shallower than 30 feet.

Great place to grab a weekend dive or two if you live in the greater D.C. area. It can get fairly crowded, but never to the point of inconvenience, unless some silt gets kicked up. You can also camp there for $5. At the gate you must present your C-card and let them know who you are diving with if you are traveling alone. There is no solo diving allowed unless you have a solo certification and redundant air.

Not a bad dive site. Entry was precarious due to an abundance of rocks on the beach. I didn't see the sand that is in the picture here. I caught it between tides, so it was shallow and surge was rough, decreasing the vis. LOTS OF SNAILS! They were all over the rocks at about 6 ft. Not a lot of plant diversity.
