I have dove Honaunau many times. It is one of my favorite Big Island dive sites. Excellent visibility and tons of reef life. Two options exist - a deeper dive following the reef drop off to the North, and a shallower dive on top of the reef straight out of the entry point. Overall, lots of stuff to see - nice corals, lots of fish, plenty of sea turtles (especially in the shallow reef), and even dolphins. My last time there, just over the drop off, approx. 50 yards from shore was a pod of about 50 Spinner Dolphins swimming around. They were docile and friendly allowing me to swim close up and photograph them as I swam with them! A must-dive location! More photos: http://www.letsgo-hawaii.com/diving/honaunau.html
