Made 2 dives at the south end of the picnic area. Good place to park. Walked tide pools at shoreline and found lots of creatures. Long swim to drop-off. One dive had a strong current, next day current was '0'. Saw lots of tropicals, sea turtles, sea horse. We found 2 old bottles and some pottery shards.

Easy dive, but long swim out to the drop-off. Swim over to the other part of the double reef and see some massive coral formations. A large school of black durgons swam near us on our dive. A compass would be useful to find your way back to your exit point. Swimming the wrong way could mean a longer swim or a long walk back to your car.

Good Site. It's fun to leap off the 8' cliff. Thick soled wetsuit boots should be worn. Drop-off starts rather quickly. Storm damage can be seen underwater with piles of broken coral. Lots of marine life on the dive. We did this dive as a night dive also. A light on the ladder and a small marker light at depth assist a night-time exit. Exiting the ladder could be challenging in a strong swell condition. The octopus under the ladder was still there in June.

Good site, easy dive, generally easy entry. Make sure all your stuff is secured somewhere else other than your car. Someone rummaged thru our stuff while we were diving.

Excellent site and wall profile. Beautiful corals and lots of fishes. The walk out and up the stairs could be difficult for some.

A VERY EASY DIVE. Bonaire diving doesn't get much easier than a dive on Buddy's Reef. A good introduction to Bonaire's reef system. The staff at Buddy Dive are excellent. Watch for boat traffic as the docks at Buddy Dive are docks for the house dive boats.

Dive report: 5/16. Vis was 5', the tide was later than normal. Lots of invertebrates were out along the rocks. Banded Tulip Shells, Sea Spiders, Sea Whips, Sea Squirts, Hard Corals, Assorted Tunicates, Blennies, Stone Crab, Oyster Toadfish, Sea Urchins. Dive RI at slack high tide. The beach access area has fresh water showers and restrooms. Places for families to sunbathe and kids to play in the water. For best results, suit up in the parking lot and walk along the water up near the chain link fence. It's a long walk, but that's the best spot to dive. Stay on the rocks during the dive. Surface in the shallows.
