This dive site gives you the best of several worlds, it has aspects of a deep dive, a wreck dive, and a wall dive, with good game, and good viz. Entry is easy, (on a good day), just slip in right at the corner of the fence, and head out to the point. Watch for fishermen, and fishing line, otherwise, a nice site.

A long but very pretty drive, (from SoCal), Jade Cove is worth the trip. Don't attempt this if you are not in pretty good shape, the hike and entry/exit are tough. Diving through a pass-thru, with walls of solid Jade, is a heck of a payoff! Fair warning, just because it's green rock doesn't mean it's Jade. There is also green and black serpentine everywhere, that is what most of the green rock is.

Refugio Beach is an excellent place to dive overall. The top-side facilities far out weigh just about any place I've been too! No the diving is not always the best for photographers or advance divers seeking a thrill, but Refugio always provides a safe environment with good diving and marine life. Just be sure to get there when they open "8:00 a.m." during the summer to avoid the crowds and get good parking. This is a very easy entry, surface swim straight out from the beach "approx" 75 yards and drop down. A few lobster have been known to frequent here as well as bat rays and even 2 sea lions on one occasion. This is also an excellent place to take family, friends along and BBQ.
