Just got back from a trip to GC. Did 12 shore dives in total. In my opinion, Cemetery reef was not all that it was cracked up to be. There was some interesting marine life (turtle, reef fish, etc.) but there are other dives with just as easy entry and surface swims that are superior in my opinion. In fact, I did a shore dive a quarter mile south of this site on a whim and it turned out to be one of my favorite of the trip. Simply take the public beach access next to the Christopher Columbus Condos and swim straight out. The swim out is a bit far (maybe 200 yards), but there are a few great parallel reefs that lead directly to the wall where I encountered a shark and lots of other diverse marine life.

Excellent for snorkeling. There are two coral heads about 100 yards directly out from the laneway next to the cemetery. Lots of varieties of fish; highly recommended.

Visited this site 2x in July of 2011! Followed a pair of reef squid for a while. Saw them both times! Great time.

Excellent snorkeling site of for all levels. We went several times and the visibility was always excellent with smooth surface conditions even when it was windy. The fish are very friendly!

Easy walk past the cemetery to this beach and dive area (Yes, a real cemetery!) Close to shore the coral is beat to death. Out further it is somewhat better. Snorkeled in 2003 & 2004. Not my favorite spot. Love2snorkel

Possibly the best snorkel sight on 7 mile beach, Cemetery Reef is an easy swim about 100 yards from shore. The larger coral heads nearly poke out of the water, and are full of crevices for exploration. Fish food and an underwater camera make for a more memorable experience.

Awesome snorkel site. We had a windy week which made the other areas on Grand Cayman a bit rougher, so we kept coming back to Cemetery Reef over and over again. Re Directions: It's right by the cemetery across from the fire station.

Excellent snorkel location, not overly crowded and was enjoyed by kids as well as adults. Park on the main road outside of the cemetery and walk down the laneway beside the commentary to get to the beach.
