Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Crash Boat Beach
Crash Boat Beach is a municipal park lined with palm trees, picnic tables, white sand, a pier and a boardwalk with vendors. It is a popular site for Open water check out dives. Most of the dives is done under the abandon old Navy pier and around some of the fallen part of the pier. Around this area maximum depth is 45 feet.
From San Juan take State Hwy 22 (Toll) west. Hwy 22 merge with Hwy 2 in the town of Hatillo. Continue west on Hwy 2 until the town of Aguadilla. Take route 107 north until you see the Crash Boat hwy sign. Turn west at the big church and follow the winding road to the end to a parking lot in front of the beach.

After Hurricane Maria in 2017, the remaining platforms and piles all went down, thus creating lot more structure for marine life. After 2 year it is noticeable the amount of fish, invertebrae and both sponges and new coral growth. Schools of grunts, s.major, ceroes and more. In the deep end there are various anchors from the pier construction era. In general a pretty cool dive. Good for macro photography as well.

We got to dive this site, late August of 2013 & enjoyed it very much... vis was at least 60 ft., a lot of aquatic life around the old pilings. Next time we'll take a spear gun of sorts, to kill the lionfish. It's also a great snorkeling place, just make sure you're a decent swimmer, as it's quite a ways from the shoreline. Overall, great little dive!

We have dove at Crashboat beach several times, and every time we have seen something different. From Sea cucumbers to schools of fish, eels, jellies, and beautiful sponges. Take an emptied water bottle filled with cracker/bread crumbs and you will enjoy the fish entirely! We have seen schools of blue tang that exceed 200 along with dozens of other species. The largest school that we have seen easily exceed 800 fish, they were some type of sardine, wonderfully beautiful! Take your time and enjoy Crashboat!!

You will see a sign for Crash Boat off of 107 and turn left. Dive is good for beginners, as it is pretty shallow (25' - 30'). Easy entrance after a walk from parking lot right into water. Swim out to the concrete structures to the left of the pier.

A lot of fish. Day dive yielded a small spotted moray and a small octopus. Very good for a shore dive.

Over all great dive. Only problem we had was having to watch for people jumping off the pier. A lot of different fish life to be found.

Great for the beginner diver. It is use as a training site by most dive schools in PR.
