Highlight here was quiet a few nudibranches. In small crevices on the rocky bottom we also encountered some moray eels and octopuses. Some scorpionfish were also observed.

AThe "Alice B" is a cargo ship sank during the war by a group of militias. It is a beautiful wreck.

Sawan's Bay is also known as Abdul Sawans Bay.

The caverns have been created by the sea currents. 

The dive's peak is the big pool inside the Rosh Hanikra visitor park.

The site is inside the Rosh Hanikra visitor site. Access to the site is by swimming from the steps before the entry to the site - or by boat in proximity to the cave enterence.

Diving in the site requires IDF Navy clearance and the dive needs to be done with a local diving instructor to my knowledge.

Rosh Hanikra Caverns

The site is centred around a big underwater wall covered with corals and plants.

Many sea creatures are attracted to the site: squids, small rays, sea-turtles and big fish.

The site is part of the Achziv National park.

The Site is accessible via the various diving clubs which take out boats to this areas. It is a little far to swim from the coast.

IDF Navy Permission is recommended and for some sites required in this area.

Cape Grecko Caves is a 0-star rated scuba dive and snorkel destination in Cyprus which is accessible from shore based on 0 ratings.

This is an extremely easy dive site and relatively shallow.

To the right hand side moray eels and turtles have been seen during the summer months.

To the left hand side a variant of small and large fish (for Cyprus) have been seen as well as moray eels. At the end of the rock formations is a small cave which has a hole wide enough for a diver to fit through at the top.

The sandy plain to the east of the dive site is at 6m so it can be utilised for diver training

This is an easy site to find

Head towards Cape Grecko once you have reached the pennisula follow the road in the direction of the 4 large antennas. After you have gone down the hill and have reached the plain of the antennas look to your left for a wooden picnic seat that has steps to its left hand side and you are there!

Antenna steps

The dive site has 2 very good caves, one of which has the narrow exit that looks almost exactly the same as Map of Cyprus. Amazing!

From the shore 5 km away from Protaras toward Ayia Napa (south-west).
