3USS Peacock Wreck
USS Peacock is a 100' long wood hulled WW-II minesweeper. It sits in 60 ' of water on a sandy floor. It possibly sunk in December 1979. Incorrectly identified as the Peacock in many books, the wreck is actually the Spirit of America. Scorpion Anchorage; northwest side of Santa Cruz Island USS Peacock Wreck is also known as Spirit of America.
