About Us

Created in 2019, it was in Viana do Castelo that Mare Vitae took its first steps. In its DNA, its founding team brings more than two decades in diving training, more than a decade in Nautical Training, Maritime Rescue, Oceanography, Biology and Civil Engineering. Interconnecting the various multidisciplinary knowledge of its team, Mare Vitae's mission is to work for the sustainability of ecosystems, acting as a link between the different local stakeholders. Through technical education such as nautical activities and scuba diving and through partnerships with scientific institutions, Mare Vitae fills a gap in regional coastal communities, bridging the gap between scientific partners and the local community. Also, as a founding member of the EU4Ocean platform, of the European Union, We believe that through citizen science and scientific literacy it is possible to contribute to a more sustainable use of natural resources. Together we can build a sustainable society.
