Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at North Save-a-tack

This pair of adjacent sites are often dived together. Grand Central Station is an opening in the lagoon wall where an 80 foot sandy area meets the blue. Trevally, barracudas, and sharks are often found here. Redtooth triggerfish are abundant, and both spotted and decorated garden eels are present. In the center of the area is a wide arch you can swim under that makes a great photo op. A couple hundred feet south (210 degrees) is a pinnacle known as Kansas, which rises from the sand at 60 feet to within 15 feet of the surface. The top is covered with Sinularia coral, which looks like a field of wheat swaying in the current. Lots of great reef fish here, and often an octopus too. By boat from Namena Island or by liveaboard. North Save-a-tack is also known as Grand Central Station/Kansas.
